Roy Ayers Ubiquity in 3CD-boxset

en nieuwe boxset, verkrijgbaar vanaf 6 december via Robinsongs/Cherry Red Records, brengt vijf Roy Ayers Ubiquity-albums samen in een Digipack-anthologie van 3 cd's.

Op het programma: A Tear To A Smile, Mystic Voyage (1975), Everybody Loves The Sunshine (1976), Vibrations and Lifeline (1977) plus drie bonustracks (volledige tracklist hieronder) en een boekje ondertekend door journalist Charles Waring. In zijn liner notes citeert laatstgenoemde Roy Ayers: “In 1970, toen ik bij Polydor kwam, zei mijn manager tegen mij: “Roy, je zou je groep Ubiquity moeten noemen. »Ik vroeg hem wat dat betekende, en hij vertelde me dat de gave van alomtegenwoordigheid bestond uit het overal tegelijk zijn. Ik vertelde hem dat het het lot was, want als iedereen een van mijn albums zou hebben, zou ik overal tegelijkertijd zijn. Ik vond het een goed idee en begon de naam te gebruiken. »
