“Waking Up In Another Country…” The Dream, follow-up to Crozier’s 2024 debut single ‘Die Young (As Late As You Can’) “is about early morning dreaming about being another country, with someone you may not even know” says Alan Crozier. "We thought about ‘In Another Country’ as a title but landed with The Dream - hopefully the sentiment will connect with people travelling to new places all over the world.” he says. “In developing the music, we sat down with acoustic guitars, peddling on a riff I wrote a few years back. Musically, I guess the inspiration includes some of the classic rock acts I grew up with such asThe Kinks, The Beatles and Small Faces, more recently Tom Petty/Travelling Wilburys. “The recorded version has a musical nod to those groups I grew up with. Putting the two elements together seemed to work. We also considered finalising the arrangement as a love song but decided to run with a more up tempo version(too many love songs!). The Scots musician, now living near Brighton, was in on the early days of the Scottish folk scene with the likes of Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty, before pursuing a career in management consultancy. The track was co-written, arranged and produced by Nick Prentice at Media Room and is being released by Scottish start-up iOcco Music. “Just A Dream?” We are delighted with how the song has been received so far” says Ian Johnston at iOcco Music, “so far reactions have been really encouraging and we’ve had brilliant feedback. “Watch out for dates around the South East where I’ll be performing an acoustic version of the song live” adds Crozier. The Dream is available from 1st May on all platforms. More information at ioccomusic.com.
